Title: Meeting With a Mushrooming Mind: An Intro to the Fascinating World of Fungi
Join us as we explore the fascinating world of fungi! Kevin Popowich of the Philadelphia Mycology Club will discuss fungal anatomy, key identifying features, and their ecological significance. This presentation aims to inspire the community to reimagine their favorite greenspaces and hiking trails through the world of mushrooms. We will also explore the past, present, and future of fungi.
Kevin is an Ecological Risk Assessor who volunteers with the Philadelphia Mycology Club, a local non- profit, building community around fungal education and conservation in hopes of inspiring others to embrace and defend public greenspaces through the lens of mushrooms. Today, he is excited to share with us his passion and insights by providing a brief overview on mushrooms and hopefully provide an antidote for any mycophobia surrounding the fascinating world of fungi.
