Volunteer
Friends of High School Park is a predominately volunteer non-profit organization in the Philadelphia suburbs, created in 1995. On volunteer weekends, we are in High School Park, located at Montgomery Ave and High School Rd, Elkins Park, PA on Saturdays and Sundays from 10-12pm. Volunteer weekends run from March to November each year. There is no need to register to volunteer unless you have a large group, just meet us at the shed.

Each volunteer event, several tasks can be accomplished with varying levels of experience. There is always lots of weeding to do as well as trail maintenance, plantings, seed gathering and trash pick-up. Throughout the seasons there may also be special projects where specific tasks are required. We can accommodate adults, school students, younger children accompanied by an adult and groups of any size. We supply gloves and a variety of tools but please feel free to bring your own.
Workday Weekends
Volunteer workdays are great opportunities to get outside with your neighbors and meet someone new! Great time spent for “community service credits” too! We do work in light rain – it is actually the best time to weed!
A strong recommendation is to wear long sleeves, closed shoes, and pants.
